The President's Research Grant (PRG) annual competition supports Nova Southeastern University’s research-focused core values and strategic priorities by providing seed money for new research, expanding current research initiatives to new levels of competitiveness, and supporting scholarly activities that contribute to general disciplinary knowledge. Successful grantees are expected to leverage funds to pursue externally sponsored research.
Each PRG award is funded 50% from interest on university-invested funds, and 50% from the winning applicant’s college as matching funds. Proposals are reviewed by panels of faculty/researchers, including past recipients, and the highest ranked proposals are presented to the president for final selection in the Spring of each year.

President's Research Grants are not evaluated on the level of funding an individual may have for other projects locally or federally funded. Each project or submission is graded on its own merits and not on past or present funding.
